If you need a view from above, whether it's for a sporting event, news or outdoor scenic shots, we can capture it from the sky. Photojournalist Travis Johnson has more than 2,000 flight hours of shooting aerials from a helicopter. He was assigned as the full-time helicopter photographer for the NBC affilliate news station in Phoenix, Arizona for four years. Travis won numerous Rocky Mt. Emmy, NPPA and AP awards for stories that included much of his aerial work.
     Looking for aerials with that dynamic, rock-solid smoothness as seen in Hollywood movies? Storyteller Productions is trained to use both Wescam and FLIR Gyro Camera technologies. These babies have 24X1 or 36X1 zoom lens capabilites...flip on the lens doubler and you can see 72X1! Now that's up close and personal! And the shot is smooth and steady even as the chopper cruises at 115 knots! Both Wescam and FLIR are FAA approved and certifed for Jet Rangers, Long Rangers, and A-Stars. It's the perfect system for big events. Travis used it for Super Bowl XXX and NBC Nightly News.      Need aerials but have a limited budget? No problem. We have a harness for our photographer to hang out the door of the helicopter and shoot hand-held. Or we can use a Tyler-mount for those steady yet affordable shots. The Tyler-mount will allow our camera to give smooth, wide-shots with some panning and tilting capabilites. A great set-up for city and landscape scenics or golf courses and real estate.
     If you need live aerial pictures, we can supply you with air-to-ground microwave gear, radios and IFB communications to the director. We can get clearance with the FCC microwave frequency coordinator in Phoenix to get an open channel for broadcast. We are very familiar and experienced in communicating with the director for live sporting events and news.
